ok well i started overclocking my 3700 again this mornin. i am currently at 2.8ghz, with HT at 3 and Memory at 200 (lowest i can go) its been prime stable so far. now im not sure what to do with the divider now 2.8 is pretty quick and stable but the memory is going very slow. Super pi 1m has gone from 38s at stock to 46s at 2.8, can i up the divider? but what to?

edit: its at 1.55volts

You seriously need to up the divider, you won't harm your memory if it doesn't work so whatever the next option up in the bios is, take that, it'll probably take you up to 160ish, test it then go up again until you find the best divider.

Couple of questions..

it says 1280mb? Do you have a 1gb stick and a 256? You'll be much better off getting a matching pair.
It also says you're running at 2T on the memory, you want to get that to 1T if at all possible.

Finally, whats the app you're using to show your memory usage/temps etc? thats pretty cool!

thanks will try that now. when testing do you blend test CPU and RAM or just the CPU?

yes at mo i have a 2 x 512 and a 256. should i remove the 256? (its in there for battlefield :)

that is something i made on samurize using MBM5

I normally use superpi tbh because I can't be bothered waiting for prime.. but defo a blend if you want to test your memory

or memtest?

Yes take the 256Mb out.

If you can get 2.8 Stable you can run 311HTT x 9 and your mem on the (133)266 Divider and your mem will run @ 200Mhz stock.

133(266) divider is 6(CPU):4(MEM)

So (311/6)*4 = 207.33

But because of how the A64's work with the built in mem controller its actually pretty much 200Mhz you get.

What I run with my opty 144 :D

thanks hex, i am at that point right now

it is super pi stable, what is a better program to test with??
stress prime is rubbish. and what volts are you using through yours?? im at 1.625 at the moment

why are your cpu-z screenies showing 1.4v when you say you're using 1.625 or 1.55?

What cooling are you using? 1.55v is fine for a decent air cooler.

do you have cool & quiet on?

if so turn it off.. if not then from what I've seen cpu-z can be out but nowhere near that much, what psu do you have?

cool and quite is off, MBM5 says 1.55volts cpu still says 1.4 ah well.
my psu is a tagan so very reliable

plus its BF2 stable but removing that 256 has brought back the massive memory lag i used to get its so annoyin just gonna have to get 2gig
