Overclocking

I just built a 3570k on a gigabyte voltage locked board, we managed to get 4.3ghz stable of course without any change in voltage, you shouldn't need to go all the way up to 1.3!

Was just doing it off the settings i got told, this is my first time overclocking

Any recommendations on what i should aim for? (i have no idea)

* With a lower voltage will it run cooler?

Mine is deffo 1.25, don't know if you will be able to match it because you have a diff mobo. I didn't change anything else apart from voltage and CPU modifier

What will happen if i change it and it doesnt agree? Can i still boot to bios to change again

Yes, it will still post so you can get into bios

Ive been running Prime95 for an hour atm with 1.275v, i have a 4-5c drop in temps from my previous attempt and it seems stable. Maybe possible to go lower? Or not worth it (but i suppose the lower i can get it the better right?)

well the lower the voltage, lower the temps. Also at 1.30 you might able to run 4.5/4.6 if its stable at 1.275 at 4.4

Did another run of Prime95 for 2hours+ on 1.225. Again stable and 4c lower temps than the 1.275 attempt :) (im really happy with this one)

i just bought the same board and processor, its running x44 ok on +0.005v offset. if i step it up to 46 it BOSDs on boot and at 45 it starts crashing out the odd thing when i run prime, but its not that hot (67c after 30 mins of prime)

Whats the highes ti should push the offset? as its not a fixed voltage im just a little concerned about how much it can jump. Vcore shows as high as 1.295 when i check it in windows.

Ohhh nice, im using a fixed cpu voltage. I dont think i did anything with the x44 or offset (This is my first time doing OC :))

you dont need to use much offset, remember the loadline calibration setting will also affect hoe much cpu voltage is used at load, each llc level adds a different amount of cpu v at load
