I'm surprised that there isn't a thread for this yet.

Utterly awesome couch co-op game. Penny Arcade covered it pretty well with a comic a while back:

Buy it, play it, strangle the inept kitchen assistant you once called "friend": http://store.steampowered.com/app/448510/

We got to the 2nd set of levels last night and the challenge has ramped up :D 2 stars is all we seem to get here! But having fun and still trying over and over to get 3 stars

i seen everyone chatting about it in the steam sale thread and wondered what all the fuss is about. seen the video in opening post and i think i will grab this as well. im sure my daughters will love it

Just admit it, you bought it for yourself and the missus :D.

Wasn't expecting that at all! Great twist.

It seems to teach you something, you get good at It, then they flip it on its head

Indeed, that threw us off so badly that we completely failed it first time.

For a party game I would highly recommend this! When I was thinking about buying the game, the videos looked bland and boring. Any video you watch can not do this game justice. The chaos in the kitchen is amazing when you are working with someone and you're always on your toes.

The moments everything is moving so fast and you become overwhelmed by work is the hardest part in this game. Many fires have destroyed our hard work, while we panicked to put them out.

We are learning with each attempt. Trying to figure out different strategies. Originally we did a mad dash back and forth on the trucks that split, until we decided to just have one on each and throw all excess chopped food on the floor, ready to plate up.

Thats 'Kishotenketsu' the classic Japanese storytelling method that Shigeru Miyamoto (and others) use but for game mechanics.

Introduction
Development
Twist
Conclusion

I want to get a wii because apparently Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze does it really well, with multiple mechanics working harmoniously. Its great for making something easy to get into but hard to master

What is it everyone wants from multiplayer? It would only work if you are either put in 4 separate kitchens, or you shared one big kitchen but aimed to complete your own dishes for the highest score. The campaign would be a horrible experience online as you really need to communicate and some people wouldn't use mics.

I think it would be great as I would only play it with people i knew using Teamspeak. It would be glorious.

I bought this in the sale yesterday to play with the Mrs on my new steam link. I only have the one steam controller but I have two Xbox 360 controllers knocking around somewhere that I intend to put to use so we can co op

Until you find the controllers, I think there is an option to split the same controller between two players. So instead of using A and X (xbox controller layout), you both use one stick and the triggers.

Luckily I have two PS4 controllers and we will hopefully be playing this again very soon :D.

Played that on lunchtime breaks, 4 players co-op. It's funny to see 4 software engineers trying to make plans on how to tackle a particular level the most efficiently, then whatever you do, will turn into a whirlwind of chaos in about a minute flat.

Well, sometimes, it worked. Mostly.

I'm either the racoon guy or Stephen Hawkings. Meals on wheels baby!

My three kids play this with their friends, and after five minutes it's mayhem! Now put four adults after a glass of something and it's worse than the kids.

Can't recommend this enough with some friends through the Steam Link and four controllers.
