Its my 30th on friday and im planning a do saturday night.

Its starting and a pub affair with the chance of moving into town after depending on how things go.

Obviously being my big day I want to impress but in the opinion of the general masses is a suit too much?

If everyone suits up its fine. If its just you and other people are in T-shirts its a bit OTT.

Get everyone to suit up, Look sharp, ???, Profit.

Who do you want to impress?

This.

I certainly wouldn't want to. I'd just want to be comfortable, with my mates also comfortable in whatever I/they want to wear. I hate it when people stipulate what I must wear just to go down the pub... Makes me not want to go.

/Rant

Im not trying to impress anyone as such maybe impress was a bad word to use. I guess its my 30th and was just hoping to stand out a little from the usual jeans and a shirt crew being the occasion that it is

Casual suit - untucked shirt, no tie.

That's what I tend to wear if I'm going drinking and it's a classy enough joint to justify formal dress.

Or go for a sport coat and shoes along with regular dress if you want to dial it down another notch.

Screw the naysayers. If you wanna wear a suit wear a damn suit. It's your birthday, you only get one 30th so do it your way. Just don't wear an expensive suit if you plan on it getting messy.
