Overdue GPU Upgrade

About a year ago I built myself a new PC as you can see from my signature but as I was tight on funds I stuck with my current GPU.

Tbh it is the piece of hardware that is holding back my PC and i think it is time for an upgrade. I have no idea what would be the best choice for me as I mainly use it for gaming and general use. No video editing or anything like that.

What I need help on is;

1. Will my PSU handle a decent card?
2. What card should I be looking at?

Looking to spend about £150-200, prefer it to be closer to £150.

Your PSU will be plenty for what you need.

After looking at the prices of the 7950's here, prices have certainly leapt up from what they were. Not so long ago, you could get a 7950 for under £200. If you can get a decent 7950 for £200, that would be a good choice but failing that, the 660 or 7850 are decent cards that will allow some decent settings on modern games.

GTX 660 is right in your price range and is about 2x more powerful than a 460.
You can get them for £160-180.

I'm looking to get an upgrade very soon too.

Might be worth waiting a few weeks, rumors are that the new 700 series cards are out by the end of May, possibility the prices of the 600's might go down a bit to clear out old stock, but not guaranteed.

honestly I was going to get a 660, but after seeing new hardware being released soon-ish I think ill wait. See current gpu in sig

I'm not too sure if it's worth waiting if you're after a 660.

The 700 series cards coming this month are only the ultra high end cards, and are unlikely to affect the price of the 660 imo.

I personally can't imagine the price of the 660 going below £150 any time this year, because it will still be a decent card, no matter what else comes out at the higher end.

But you never know..!

Also, there are some pretty sweet freebies with the nvidia cards atm, which may not be there in a month's time..!

I can't decide whether to buy now or later either >.<

So if there not out by the end of the week then should I just buy?

Also the 760 doesn't necessarily mean prices will drop?

Well the 760Ti is gonna be £249 or something near that.

Good things come to those who wait, which is usually not me because i don't wait well!

Me neither. I'm on the fence on which one to get also. 760 SLI or 770 SLI. 760 will be a lot cheaper
