Overhead monitor light

I have a backlit keyboard and LED strips round my monitor edge instead. Lots more options for adjustment, and the latter is controlled throgh my Aquasuite.

I have these in addition to the overhead light.

Its day and night with the overhead light if you have something infront of you that want to read or write or something.

TBH, I usually hold reading material upright like a newspaper, so it'd be outside an overhead monitor light.
I have a room lamp behind me though, which seems to work just as well.

I ordered both the BenQ and Quntis ones to try out. The BenQ one arrived yesterday so I used it last night and it was great, such a difference from my LED light at the side of my monitor. My Dell monitor has a curved back and the BenQ weight still fit ok. The Quntis is arriving today so I'll try that one tonight before deciding which one to keep. The BenQ looks lovely but is pricey for what it is, the Quntis model is about half its price.

interested to hear thoughts on the Quntis compared to BenQ, I never considered thes ebars before but I realised that I usually edit in a dark room anyway even though I have 2 floorstanding diffused corner lights either side of my desk with Hue bulbs so can control the white balance etc. I just sometimes feel like I want only the desk area lit up and nothing else so my eyes are firmly focus in that etc and one of these look to be just the ticket!

I might actually just buy the Quntis anyway as will get it tomorrow and if I don't like it, returns are free!

Edit* Just seen this:

Interesting in getting one of those. I have a 35" curved 21:9. I see they do curved light bars, but not sure if needed.

Exactly why I went with the Quintis. The reviews between them didnt really justify doubling the price.

Im glad you are seeing a difference. Your reaction is pretty much exactly what I expected. Let us know how you get on between both.

Yep thats the review I saw some months ago. Thats why I went with the Quintis.

(Did I mention this already :p?)

Enjoy :)

I ended up changing my mind as I realised I have two corner lights beside the desk on floorstands with Hue bulbs so I have been adjusting white balance etc as needed anyway. I now have some Hue dimmer switch presets saved that switch between dim desk mode to bright whole room etc so that's me sorted!

Having now tried the Quntis bar I'm going to keep that and return the BenQ one. Whilst the BenQ bar feels a better build wise I don't think that makes up for it being almost twice the price of the Quntis bar. The only thing I can find fault with the Quintis bar is that it is a lot tighter in its clamp and harder to turn than the BenQ one.

Thats what I thought also.
There are various mounting methods you can use if the clamp is too tight? (I cant remember them off the top of my head but theyre detailed in the destructions.
Glad you like it :)
