Before upgrading to my current PC i was using a Packard Bell iMedia which dated to about 4 years old. It runs Intel Celeron 2.97ghz on an Asus mobo (sorry for the lack of detalia here). I installed SpeedFan after getting worried at the heat coming out of the unit which then subsequently turned out to be 120C. I have no idea how long it was running @ 120C but i managed to get the temps down to around 60-70C with new fixings of thermal paste but games such as WOW still suffer horrible FPS. (i used to be able to get 5-20FPS on CS1.6). I heard that Celeron's shut themselves down and dont use their full capacity if they overheat to prevent death to itself but i dont know if the 120C has casued irrepairable damage. Also i have installed an Akasa Cooling fan on top of the heat sink but it still doesnt look like it has a decent RPM. Any thoughs?
