Overkill

Sort of. :p

GD is a section rather dethatched from the rest of the forum. I didn't actually come in here until I had about 2000 posts because I thought I'd get shredded. :D

Might be a good shout there

Grab switch and download clonezilla.

7 in an hour is nothing.

I'll try it. My boss is old and ex services likes having them done one by one to be sure everything is done correctly. I just won't tell him.

The generation after generation retort of the scruffy bugger.

I'd say that it is disorganised chaos in which he knows the location of everthing. :p

Exactly. Usually I'm too busy to get the polish and pertractor out to OCD my desk.

I'm not entirely convinced that your emails are "overkill" but they sure are strange!

Kinda related (image searches), but how do you prevent a web site from forcing your browser opening a page rather than the picture itself? E.g. Tinypic in the OP's post forces you to go onto Tinypic itself even though the OP's link ended with .jpg. It's a pain because some image results in Google Images will force you onto a page instead of the image, with no sign of the actual image anywhere on the target page.

It's how the webpage is configured.

That .jpg ending on the URL is actually misleading as it's not linking direclty to a .jpg but a server side script which is processing your request.

The actual direct link to the image is via this URL: http://oi61.tinypic.com/posyc.jpg

That's usually why google image search as a "view page" and "view image" button.

But if the website/server is setup to process the image via a website and display it accordingly there's nothing you can do to get around it in the first instance.

Ahhh thanks for explaining :-) Didn't realise that .jpg/.png etc doesn't always mean an image!

What's a good bit of software to image a hard drive so I don't have to install windows every time I want a clean system? I'm not 100% sure how to do it. Any software that makes it easy?

Acronis, I'm sure there are plenty of others but I've used it before and it seems pretty straight forward.

Man, I remember thinking I was baller for doing 30 laptops in a couple of hours. Then I realised the ways of SCCM, now I can do pretty much any number without even leaving my desk.

I don't like stacking laptops like that. Personally I wouldn't put something that weighs as much as 6 laptops on my laptop so I wouldn't put 6 laptops on top of one laptop.
