Here somewhere!!!
Hi ALL,

Since I have had to start using my old PC I seem to be getting a lot more phone call's stating that my pc is not working proper? and these call's state that they can help!!! I know for fact that my old but working system is working fine and has no issues :) This also goes for my notebook which runs on win7.

Has anyone else had this type of thing happen? :confused: I think that it is a scam and that they are just trying to gain remote access to my system to see what they can find. I would love to know what your thoughts on this? :);):)

These calls are all legit. They have ninja spies which come to your house at night and secretly go through your pc, looking for malware. They then use your land line to call their HQ so they have your number. They phone back at a more convenient time and offer to fix it for you.

//no. It's a scam. Avoid.

Since you last used the old PC it upgraded itself and is now a fully functioning AI who's hobbies include prank phone calls.

So not just me that notices these things then..

Yeah Yeah thanks for that guys.

I didn't go to school, as I had to work the farm as soon as I could walk. At least it has put a smile on some of your faces this afternoon.

Anyway, have any of you had a similar thing happen, as it just makes me think how many people fall for this type of thing?
As for using Malwarebytes etc. I have already done full scans and there is nothing found unless it's is using some type of cloaking device!!!!

I just find it strange that they knew that I was using win XP pro and win 7, as I am careful not to give details out in the first case. Hey, maybe they're former members of this forum and have a grudge to bare?????

The calls are totally random, the chances are you've just noticed them since using the old machine, or your number has recently got onto that part of the call centre chain.

We have had an increase in them again in the last couple of weeks, not forgetting the same recorded message about "the likes of Barclays, HSBC and lloyds" PPI calls.
I'm starting to wonder if I can get something to plug into the line and emit a very loud tone down it on demand, sort of like the old "refs whistle down the phone", but without waking the rest of the house when these idiots call.
