I play overwatch on all low settings and I get about 60-140 FPS, depends how much is going on on screen. I usually play borderless windowed mode but when I do this I often get some slowdown, when I play in fullscreen mode it's fine however I get a lot of screen tearing. Is it possible to fix this without putting vsync on, or is this down to the fact that I have a 60Hz monitor?

Why not just put vsync on anyway. No point in having your system running faster and your screen will only show 60fps

Input lag. Op you need a freesync/gsync monitor if you want no tearing without vsync and at 60fps+ If you had a 120hz monitor without sync tech, you would still get tearing at your fps.

While it is true what you are saying, there are still benefits to a higher frame rate such as reduced latency. There are many good articles/videos showcasing this.

It is tearing because of your refresh rate. There are alternatives to free sync and gsync within AMD/Nvidia setups like fast sync for example. These are free but require certain hardware to run, im not sure if you have it or not. This COULD help to alleviate some of the tearing. However it in theory shouldn't be able to out right remove it.

Unless of course you go into LFC and you don't have vsync on, in which case you can still get tearing.

Have you tried AMD drivers Enhanced Sync, way more preferable than vsync and the next best thing to having a freesync monitor. Ive been pretty impressed with Enhanced Sync

Not sure if its been mentioned but run the game in fullscreen mode and use something like riva tuner to lock your frames to 61fps this will virtually eliminate screen tearing. You don't want to turn on Vsync for a multiplayer FPS as it introduces screen lag and can have a very negative impact on performance.

Before I had a Gsync screen this is what I always used to do for COTD 4, BF3, BF4 etc

Not much in way of explanation.
Personally I disagree, my kid runs OW on a 60hz panel limited to 57fps and there's no noticeable tearing.
