Having awful games tonight, so obvious that we are against smurf players... Seen quite a few posts on reddit about people using smurf accounts...

Just ruins games when people do that imo.

yeah had my fair share tonight. All low level and paired against a team of 4 and 6s

At this point I've accepted that at least in the current iteration of the ranking system my "true rank" is likely something around 2700, as I seem to consistently go up to just under 3000 (but never quite 3000, dammit!) and then drop to a little above 2500... Maybe I can break 3000 in season 3 :)

Had a good game last night where I queued into a 6man vs. a 5man + 1 (where I was the +1)... Hanamura, both teams were playing really well and it was just nail-bitingly close at every stage - we edged them out just barely in an extremely long overtime scrap in the end. The 5-man added me after but I had to stop for the night; maybe I'll see them on later

I can only ever get to 2.1k before my luck runs out and I have a bunch of losses altogether :p I've never been great at FPS but like to think I could make it to Platinum with enough luck.

Problem is, A lot of the players probably have more raw ability at FPS games than myself but given they seem unable to work out what a good team composition is or how to play as a team, it only gets you so far.

I'm not sure which is worse, players that treat Quick Play like Competitive or vice versa! Probably the latter because I can laugh off people raging in quick play and at least they still want to win.

Not Played it since Bf1 Came out. Sounds like theres still a lot of people who are playing are been *****s in the game... I used to be able to get 1 good game out of 5.

has season 3 started yet?

And one of those was because my mate called in a short break and I played while talking to him. We still only lost 2-3. Some good games :)

She looks pretty interesting now, I never bothered with her before as she didn't look remotely fun, admittedly I've never picked her even for a second! Sending that wall out is a good way to encourage a push.

I played her, but in exactly the situation Jeff Kaplan mentioned.

Generally defending the first point on Kings Row and Hollywood, getting turrets up, spamming secondary fire and trying to get the teleporter up ASAP.

If the point was captured by the enemy team I switched out.

I have, once or twice, picked symmetra on attack. On one of those occasions I ended up gold in damage, elims, objective time and objective elims, and we won. I don't think that's the typical result you can expect, but her primary weapon is really quite powerful.

She can be VERY good for punishing an enemy team with poor situational awareness (i.e. at low rank). That said, so can nearly anyone :D

Absolutely... I think like a lot of the more uncommon picks - against a team who don't quite know the best way to deal with her she was unbelievably good, but against a team who knew to send flankers after the TP and focus her down quickly without all getting too close she was super super weak...

Interesting changes for sure, will be good to see how they play out

reddit 'overwatchuniversity' has some good guides and generally helpful folks.

Generally speaking though - just play. You can only play 'quickplay' (the 'practice' mode) and I think arcade (1v1, 3v3, random heroes etc) for the first 25 player levels anyway, so any mistakes you make won't affect your overall ranking.

There's an in-game testing range if you want to give them a whirl before trying against humans, or you can play vs AI games for a bit if you want. The in-game ability summaries for most characters are pretty much bang on though.

If you want something more in-depth, check out furiouspaul's website for a variety of guides.

I usually SoloQ (made some random internet friends that are good tanks/healers) as I play mainly support/dps, but I'm getting REKT even though I get 2-4 silver or golds per game.

Anyone know the SR changes in the next season?

SR changes in what way?

I think it'll be much the same - start the season with placement matches. Those results, combined with previous season result (not sure if season high or season end will be the important bit) will give you your starting ranking.

What ranking are you playing solo queue at?
I've bounced ~2300 - 2495 this season, playing at average 2700 when grouped, and find it's not the most reliable bracket. I think nearly everyone's within that range, so it's very hit-and-miss (much like me when I play Mcree. Arf.)

I'd like to see the upper end of each tier spending longer matchmaking and getting better balanced teams. If I soloq at 29xx I'd rather wait longer and get similar SR players than an average team SR where 30xx+ is teamed with his gold less than 10 hrs played friend.

At present Plat just feels like a glass ceiling tier unless you luck out.
