Well ive done something really stupid, during an arguement my temper got the better of me and i took it out on a wall. Thought it was plasterboard, but it was brick :(

Result = immense pain that caused me to vomit, near pass out and go into shock due to the fact ive broken 2 bones in my right hand. :(

Now i usually have a very high threshold for pain, but damn this hurt. My hand grew a bump the size of half a tennis table ball where the bone was sticking up. I did take photos but they are on the g/fs phone. Luckily im off work for 2 weeks anyway but i had a huge list of jobs to that i now cant. And trying to use a pc with my left hand is a nightmare.

Like ive said, i know it was stupid so i dont need telling.

What silly injuries have you suffered snd how did you get them?

It is yeah and plenty of people will post shortly telling you that, but I'm in the same boat as you.

I lose my temper sometimes with alarming ease, but only over futile and insignificant things, and usually feel rather stupid shortly after.

Gave the lounge door in my flat a good whack a couple of months back for reasons I can't be arsed to go into. Turns out it's a plywood jobbie and by no means solid, so there's now a nice fist sized hole in it which I've covered up with a picture of Homer Simpson. Currently pondering how to cover it up in time for the landlord's inspection when I move out in a couple of weeks... d'oh.

Silly injuries? Lets see!

Broken wrist, dislocated elbow, fractured collarbone, three broken fingers and various other minor niggles like cuts, bruises and missing teeth. Also lost 2 pints of blood too.

Cause? Jumping over a 4' wall only to discover a 20' drop onto a carpark the other side!

I cut open my armpit whilst trying to climb a fence that had a row of nails sticking upwards out the top. Just about to put my leg over when I slip and the nail went straight up. :o

That has gotta proper gotta hurt! :)

Never broken a bone, and never had an accident either. Did punch one of those hardman things at the fair, only to miss the punch ball, and punched the metal instead! Big gash on my index finger knuckle. It didnt actually hurt, but I felt really faint for a while...

Sprained my ankle thinking I could go down a 40 foot abseil tower in a single leap :o Hey, could have been worse (I was very lucky, actually)... someone else got the exact same injury by falling over a kerb :D

Other than that not a huge amount, slipped messing around with a knife and almost had a finger off.

not the biggest thing compared to the posts above..

.. but as a kid i trapped my middle finger in between a door and the wall (hinge side) and the finger got cut and was hanging off by part of the skin!.. ended up going hospital to get stitched up :)

edit: looking at post above just reminded me i got a cut on my other middle finger just below the nail from placing my hand on a snickers bar whilst it was being cut: i was complaining that i was getting a smaller half (being shared with brother) - also a kid btw - and the cut/scar thing is still visible today :)

Did the exact same thing myself, soon as id done it i instantly knew id broken a bone or two. Didnt hurt too much though, not as much the time i caught my hand on some jagged metal and three of my finger tips were hanging off :( .

Yeah, it did hurt, a lot actually. It was made worse by the fact that I didn't lose conciousness at all.

Funnily though, I came of bike at 90 a few years later and that hurt even more. Even though I was wearing full leathers and a helmet and suffered nothing more than a broken finger, the loss of fingernails (stuck to the inside of the gloves) and bruises I was in more agony than before.

Remember the time i was working with my dad, he slipped and fell off a house roof and went through a barn roof on the way down. Doctors think he would have been killed had a pig not broken his fall. Poor pig :p .

Yeah, mine is still clearly visible and I done it 9 years ago. Was at the second knuckle and cut through to the bone nearly all the way around the finger and into the bone. Damned kitchen devil :p

Managed to get in a fight in town, but the fight fizzled out and as I turned away I slipped and my arm went loose underneath me.

Managed to pull my tendon off somehow and now have it pinned back on at my elbow.

Still hurts now a lot of the time :/

Split my head open leaning back on a chair, and ending up on the floor. Listen to your parents when they tell you not to lean back! :p

Split my head open trying to jump on a massive moving swing with about 20 people on. Contrary to what it may look like it is still moving when it reaches its apex and you cant just step on...

Split my head open on the side of a swimming pool. Actually this wasn't my fault, my sister pushed me in so it's hers...

Suffice to say my head now looks like a WW1 battlefield. :D

I sprained my ankle jumping a 4 ft drop on a bike, I bottled at the last second and instead of going over smoothly ended up dropping head first onto the floor... :o

I have been very lucky really, I've never actually broken any bones *touches wood*

And Azagoth I actually cringed when I read your post, I suddenly remembered the feeling you get when you realise you are going to fall way further than you think. :(

EDIT: Just remembered, I also stood on a rake when I was about 10, you could see the fingers pushing up the skin on the top of my foot. :p

No unfortunately, it would probably have hurt less too. :p

i doubt it. Gravel drive and a buried rake. I had a bruise down my forehead for a week :D

i don't understand why angry people feel the need to hit stuff to calm themselves down. I don't really know what i'd do since i'm quite a docile person and whenever I do get angry about something, i usually just supress it in. But then again I used to see a Psychiatrist twice a week.
