Hi all,

For one reason or another the metanames in IIS fried and we had to re-install IIS and Exchange 2K3 to get things back up and running.

We backed up all the IIS sites to a config file.

When IIS came back and after Exchange was re-installed Exchange now works with clients Outlook but OWA does not work giving a HTTP 500 error even though the site is running in IIS.

Also, if i try and install the configuration of the sites before re-install it gives me options of which site I choose to re-install.

These all refuse to start with the error "The Parameter is Incorrect"

Any ideas?

It sounds like your separate restore of IIS has fried the permissions on the OWA sites.

Did you check if OWA was working before you restored your IIS backup?

no OWA wasnt working as some bright spark had installed SMTP/POP3 mail service on the server which fried the Exchange install. But thats a seperate issue.

Once Exchange was re-installed it created its own website again and its this one that doesn't work.

IIS Restore, but I chose not to restore the exchange sites from the original config, although since, I have tried that and that too doesnt work
