Completely agree. Unfortunate injury but a funny parody. Was like when people started calling Djibril Cisse Djibrittle Cisse after his second leg injury

It may be career threatening it's not life threatening. I don't see how people can't understand the funny side it's one of the better of these kind of jokes, the Paul Robinson joke in Sports Arena is terrible....

If someone had contracted cancer then it wouldn't be funny but he's only injured his leg.

I'm a Newcastle fan but it's still funny. If someone made a joke about me I would just laugh it off, especially if I know, as in this situation, that no harm was intended.

True story...

Went into a local bookies the day after the Sweden game and asked for odds for Owen playing against Ecuador. Was quoted 2000-1. So I wrote on the ticket 10 quid on Owen Hargreaves playing against Ecuador and asked for those odds.

Funnily enough he ripped up my ticket.

I've done a very similar injury and watching the replays of the way Owen went down make me cringe. If someone had made a joke at my expense when I injured myself, I'd have decked them if I could actually have managed to get to them. Unfortunately I didn't have the care Michael will so was out twice as long
