What are the rules for owning a fully-fledged, firing sniper rifle like the Heckler & Koch PSG1 in the UK?

What sort of licenses are required, is it even possible? Etc.

Please enlighten me :p

I'd bet against it's legality as there's no reason you should really have it :p, i don't think magpie and pigeon shooting will cut it ;). but i have no real idea..

I've never actually played Counter Strike (I think that makes me even sadder?), and I just fancy owning one for some uber-long range killing of random organisms.

Yeah, I can't really see any reason for needing one therefore probably illegal.

How much would one of them cost btw? I have a few people I need rid of..

The first step on the ladder to being a psychopath = owning a high velocity rifle for "killing random organisms" :D

In all seriousness though, the first time you shot that in this country, you would have a dozen well armed members of the Armed Response Unit kicking the ever loving cack out of you. I would advise against it :p

If you want to play with guns like that, join the military or stick to air rifles! You wont be able to get a firearms liceince for that.

And that's why it's illegal, because people like you want to own them.

i'm sure ive seen this asked before abotu the same gun. iirc someone mentioned that they have to be bolt action single shot guns to be legal in the UK. but dont quote me :)
