Oxford student who stabbed boyfriend is spared jail

She must know that the whole country thinks shes be let off lightly so unless she really thinks shes innocent then why would she appeal. Not knowing all the details does make me think that maybe the press aren't focusing on all the story just the shocking parts to sell papers.

Because she's heavily invested in a medical degree and probably wants to complete it. A non-custodial sentence or even some very small odds at trying to get off the conviction entirely is probably a worthwhile punt for her millionaire parents to fund.

Heh, literally just came in here to post that - the judges should have overturned the original suspended sentence and actually locked her up for her having the arrogance to even appeal it!

So, does this mean her future career as a brilliant but rather insane surgeon is now down the toilet? I assume that's the reason she wanted to appeal the sentence.

Guess we'll wait to see if Oxford wants to make a circus out of their degree by letting a murderer in the sights of a medical degree.

Sorry, why do people keep referring to her as a murderer? Am I missing something here as I thought she had just stabbed her fella in the leg????

Not very well, either. He wasn't badly injured.

Unstable? Yes, at least at the time. Dangerous? Yes, at least at the time. Murderer? No.

If that was me I would have falcon punched her.

Don't care how good looking or what her scratch is, I would have smashed her head in.

Its happened to me, lets just say she didn't get far. ;)

To echo the earlier posts, deffo still would :D

Probably yes, IIRC she wants to go into medical research now.
