Oxford

I'm going to Oxford next weekend for a get together and was thinking about spending the Friday afternoon before catching up with my friends in the city roaming around and taking some photos. I am a bit familiar with the city but not been for 2 years and have no fixed itinerary.

Any recommendations on intereting or quirky places to go check out?

I am also driving from Surrey. Route will be Camberley - Bracknell - M4 - M40 - Oxford. Anything worth stopping at along the way?

In Oxford itself, if you can try getting on top of the Carfax tower. I think thats what its called. Some nice views up there IIRC

Agreed there's a couple in the centre with great views. Though if you've been before you'll probably know that there's a church (Virgin Mary I think?) near the Bodleian library - steep steps to get up there though...

Yup, a cracking spot. Perhaps take a walk along the river towards Botley, I think they still moor the punts up there, thats quite picturesque.

There's the Botanic gardens near Magdalen bridge. Might be worth a look.

And take a trip up the Carfax tower as others have suggested. Gives some good views across the City.

Get a good city map and take a look around some of the uni grounds, Some fantastic buildings around.

Finally got round to uploading the better ones, and thought I might as well share for closure to the thread. C&C very much welcome, esp. what could be improved.
Processing has been some cropping, sharpening, levels, white balance. Exif embedded.
I'm also finding that I really like panning shots.
The uni grounds and gardens had been closed by the time I'd had a wonder so it's a shame I didn't have time shooting flowers and plants close-up with my prime lens.
