So I got a p182 second hand, looks all good, no scratches etc. But now the problem, in my mupetry, I can't get the side panel off :D can anyone explain what I am doing wrong.

I thought it was just undo thumbscrews and pull back and then off?

if it is the same as the antec p183 you will have to slide it back about a inch then you should be able to pull it away from the case good luck!

The bottom "hooks" seem stuck. Could anyone take a picture from the right hand side of the bottom hooks?
Mine seem to be down a bit?

This shouldn't happen. Can you get the other side off OK? You may be able to see anything stopping it then.

Perhaps the last person to put the side on used too large a thumbscrew on the lower HDD cage. This can cause the side panel to stick if you can get it on in the first place that is!

The other side comes off fine, which is why I am so confused.
I am thinking it is the middle cage, as it was just put after a long timebefore it was sold to me.

I cant get it out either I don't think?
I will take a picture tomorrow in the light of the lower hooks, may have to snap it open and buy a new side panel :(

Just uploading pics now, they haven't come out too well. Strange thing is the top rail comes back fine, it is just the lower rail that doesn't want to pull back.

I want to get this moved into here before Battlefield comes out!

The pics came out rubbish, got fed up and just yanked it off from the top and then the top was off and just pried it open at the bottom. Not the best of things to do, but the case was £35 and a new side panel was £30 so it was a shot to nothing in some respects.

No damage as such, the inner silver bit has a bubble underneath it? I push it to get the "lift" out and it moves along but never disappears. I think the panel inside might be warped.

Further, the thumbscrew didn't seem to be a problem, can only imagine it was something during shipping?

At the bottom front, how do you get a 120mm fan into the gap in front of the HDDs, or will the one between the HDD cage and the PSU cage be enough?

Also, I have a Corsair 620w modular PSU, it has a fan on the bottom, would I keep this at the bottom or orientate it a different way?

I have the same problem with the side panel being slightly warped, though it doesn't affect usage for me. It was a common issue on the P180's too. They are 3-layer panels for soundproofing, and if one layer gets misaligned or warped due to heat or other means, it can be a pain. Replacements are available from Antec, you can get in touch with them via the website if you need to.

No need to mount a fan in front of the HDD cage. The middle is enough, only problem is it can make PSU and HDD cables a pain to route. This design was changed in the P183, which now indeed has the fan at the front. Cooling with the middle fan is fine though, my HDD temps are good.

I have the same PSU in my case and it's mounted with the fan down. That way, less dust gets in and there's no danger of dropping screws in etc. There is enough clearance below for it to have plenty of cool air. There is a brace/bracket to mount it in if you wish too. It is a bit tight, but dampens the vibrations, not that the HX620 is loud.

Yes indeed.

Unscrew those screws and then you can remove the 'cage' and put it over the top of the PSU before installing it. Then, you can put those screws back in and screw the PSU in the back of the case as usual.

Alternatively, you can do away with the cage completely and just screw in the PSU at the back.

Lol, I was just going to try and squeeze it in there somehow. Good to know :)
Anything else I should know about? Whats the best way to route the 24pin to the mobo? I don't like it coming up through the floor, usually do it from behind the tray, but obviously can't do that here.

Only plan I have so far is to drill a set of holes in the middle of the bottom HDD cage as I have 3 drives and would like them evenly spaced rather than:

Drive-Drive-Space-Drive

This is better in my opinion:

Drive-Space-Drive-Space-Drive

What mobo is it?

Both boards I've had in this case (Gigabyte P35C-DS3R and Asus P5Q Pro) have allowed the cable to be routed around the back and through a gap without issues.

I'd leave the lower HDD cage as it is and have two drives next to one another. With the fan on I think temps will still be fine unless they're all raptors. Give it a go first, then if it's not OK, you can then drill it to bits.

Cool, its a Abit IP35, just realised there is a groove around the back!
Will have to wait for now as my copy of Battlefield has turned up!

And re drilling, its just 4 holes for the rubber grommets isn't it?

Should be, just look at the ones there already.

I would upload a photo of my cable routing, but my upload is cack and not working properly. There may an older pic on the forums somewhere.

EDIT: Look here.

Black interior looks really good! I was thinking about doing mine white, but then realised, no one would see it so I think I shall leave it OEM.

Thanks for the pics and muchos gracias for the help :)

No probs. The black is indeed nice, was a standard feature of the special edition mirror finish case, so it's been like that since new. Powdercoating isn't too expensive, just there's a large cost for shipping, and you'd probably have to drill out and re-do the rivets in the case to get it done properly. So yeah, not really worth it..

Any other questions just ask.

Sorry to drag this up again, but is there some sort of fan mounting frame I am missing for the lower middle fan?

I have the one middle front and then back and top, but would like to keep my HDDs cools and don't think the PSU will do enough.
