I am running :

E4300
2x1Gb G.Skill PC6400PK (4-4-4)
P35C-DS3R (F8 bios)

I've tried all the obvious, so any suggestions as to what I'm missing ?
Ramped the volts right up makes no difference
5-5-5 gains nothing
1:1 ram gains nothing

I haven't tried other bioses, any suggestions ?

I am not an overclocking n00b, but this just seems crazy, unless there is something specific to this board/chip

293x9 = rock solid
294x9 = wont boot, even to POST

Mine does something similar. To be honest, the more I hear about them the more I regret getting one-sound fairly unstable, all in all.

This isn't really filling me with hope about getting a p35 ds3r...

Naud

I've heard a lot of bad things about the P35C-DS3R (including my own). Havent heard anything particularly wrong with the P35-DS3R though, I wouldnt be surprised if it is to do with the different types of memory slots available on the C model.

Thats why i went Asus. Seem to be better than the IP 35 and easier to setup / run that the Gigabyte's

i read exactly the same before buying my p35-ds3r (ie not to buy the 'c' version)

ps35-ds3r v2.1, awesome motherboard.

I've one of these (ver1) - very fussy with ram
F10 bios is a must

1gb of Geil value did 340x9 at first boot (never took it further as was just testing)
But in my 2gb of OCZ and had exactly same problem at around 290FSB (loss many hour on that one)
swaped to 2Gb Geil ULL and hit 380x9 without issue 1.45v (stock cooler)

my version of the board also have .05-.1 vdroop

follow the guide on the first post here with some geil ram

Well mine's been rock solid from day one. Not the greatest overclocker, but I'm getting 350FSB and 3.15Ghz (8 hours Orthos stable). My wall at 6x is about 375. Also, I'm only using the F4 revision. Happy to compare BIOSes.
