Hi guys,

I currently have the above-mentioned CPU and mobo combination all with stock cooling and at the moment the temps are fine but piled with a 6600GT (which is as loud as a lawnmower) my system is the loudest thing in my room right now.

So I'm after 2 upgrades: CPU and VGA coolers.

I have already ordered a Zalman VF700-Cu for the VGA, so don't worry about that - i've heard its good performance and silent too :)

I need a CPU cooler which will give me equivalent, if not better performance than stock cooler - BUT IT MUST BE VERY SILENT :)

I have THREE in mind at the moment:
- Zalman CNPS7700-CU
- Titan Vanessa (L-Type)

Which would you recommend? Other suggestions and questions welcome. Please remember I want silenceeeee ;p Thanks!

well i dont think those Zalman's you have posted go with the 478 socket. But im 478 still and i bought the Zalman CNPS9500 which fits very well and keeps the temps pretty low plus i cant hear it.

Im thinking of overclocking my P4 Prescott 3GHz. but i dont know the max safe temp. Also i have never overclocked.
any advise anyone? please post what is possible.

Grab a nice zalman! I have a 9500 and at stock it keeps it two around 22c @100% load! i can't even hear it...

Whoops yeah just realised the Zalman CNPS9700 LED doesn't fit 478, must've been a early morning error :P *removed it from the thread post.

SOooo - is the CNPS9500 better than CNPS7700 ?
If so then I will buy one today ^_^

I guess so yes. Being more expensive and being a later version it must be better. These are pretty big so hope it fits for you.

Yeah cool thanks.

It's kinda hard to tell if it will fit without trying I guess. The zalman website says it will. The only thing that might get in the way is the PSU but it's just a regular sized one.

So I'm gonna go for the CNPS9500-LED :D Thanks a lot guys, saved me from getting the 7700 :)
