Hey guys, i'm just buying the last pieces of my new/first build and just wondering which mobo is best. it will be going with a e6600 and 2 gb of ocz 6400 REV 2, plus an x-fi. all running at stock. running a single gpu

any help/opinions will be much appreciated

thanks all

oh and i heard someone mention that there was problems with the ds3 and ocz ram. is this just the talk of a crazy person or is there any truth in this?

The general feeling here seems to be that the P5B is better with the larger-cached C2Ds like the 6600 whereas the DS3 is better with the 6300 and 6400.

yea i still want to keep my options open by allowing over clocking later, just concerned about my ram and the ds3. think i'll just get the asus p5b as it seems like the best option.

i went with the DS3 becaue i was getting the 6300 and i also have no intention of ever running SLI so i didnt need an extra PCIe 16 port. its been great so far and my 6300 arrives tomorrow :D

i suppose it couild be a concern for large coolers. but i have the zalman 9700 mounted on my DS3 with no issues. the supporting plate sits just above the caps.
