p5k raid config

In order to install 2 drives in SATA raid, should I connect them to connectors 1 and 3 (one red and one black) or connectors 1 and 2 (both red)?

1 & 2 will work for sure. I think 1 & 3 should work too, but I'm not 100% sure on that - would need to RTFM.

They all work, when you enter the RAID BIOS you just pick whatever drives are connected to be part of the RAID.

If its an asus P5K then I think you'll have to use the external esata port and the black sata port on ** mobo. Bit of a roundabout way of doing it but the raid controller isnt on the same chip as the internal sata controller

He would appear to be right since there is only one JMicron SATA port on the PCB.

They probably could have saved a few trees and left the RAID instructions out of the P5K's manual.
