Hello :) little advice on how to fault find this problem please.

I have a p5n-d mobo with two sets of OCZ Platinum Revision 2 XTC 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Series in it.

The other day i was useing the pc and then it froze so i restarted it and then after that it would not boot, HD would make a noise at first then go silent, monitor would not power up off stand by. Checked all the connections all fine so went about taking the ram out, after checking each slot and booting the pc up with only one stick of ram in at a time in each slot i found that DIMM_A1 & DIMM-A2 when a stick of ram was in them would not allow my pc to boot.

With one stick our two in DIMM_B2 & DIMM_B2 the pc boots and runs fine.

Any advice would be appreciated thank you ;)

Boot up with one stick of ram, go into the bios and make sure the voltage is set correctly.

The crash might have reset your bios to default meaning your ram might voltage might be reset to spd which is 1.8v and your ram might require 2.1v making it unstable with two sticks.
