Hi

I'm wanting to build a new set up for home digital audio recording, mixing & editing using Sonar X1 Producer, and photo/video editing only. Please bare in mind that I'm not an overclocker or a gamer. I'm going to go with the Intel SB 2600K chip & at least 8GB of ram, however I'm unsure of whether I need dedicated or integrated graphics, therefore I'm not sure which mobo to go for? I have spoken to a sound engineer who has warned me that even the simplest task of playing back audio takes quite a bit of cpu & ram usage, therefore am I best to go with dedicated graphics, hence a P67 mobo instead of integrated on an H67 mobo?
If I went for an H67 mobo, but then later decide I want dedicated graphics, is it possible to override the integrated graphics by adding a graphics card into a PCIe slot???
I am a complete novice at this so lamens terms would be really appreciated, thanks. I'm not an overclocker or a gamer.

Thanks :)

If you don't plan on overclocking then get the non K version as its cheaper. The K means it has an unlocked multiplier and this is only needed if you plan to overclock your CPU.

With a H67 board if you found the integrated graphics too limited you could add a dedicated card without issue.

Also, you mentioned video editing. The H67 has the benefit of Intel's quick sync feature when using the GPU whereas the P67 boards do not.

This article explains the feature:

I just built an H67 system, I read that the K version of the processor has better built in graphics so I went for that even though I can't overclock it (price difference is small). Very happy so far so I'd go for the H version

I forgot about that, thanks for picking it up :)
