Plec

Continuing slightly off thread I know. But thought you might be interested.

Been playing around with OCing the CPU now. I've stuck with changing the turbo boost and everything else on auto. Currently set to 42/42/42/42

10 runs of IBT fine.

Currently running prime 95 and temps seem little hotter than running at stock!
IE. No single core has gone over 60C yet and this is with all case fans (5 of them) only running at 75%. early days yet, I'll leave it running all day me thinks. Looks like the Gelid fan is pretty good. Though I have read that the I5-2500 is a pretty cool running chip anyway. Also pretty cool up here in sunny (ha) Scotlandshire!

Your temps are great - anything up to 70º is fine. So, you have plenty of scope if you're only capping out at 60º at 1.25V (And agreed, the Gelid is a great bang for buck cooler.)

If you look at my sig you'll notice i've got a chip that requires very few volts for 4.4GHz - however, conversley, it runs hot. :/

It will hit 75º+ with 20 runs of IBT and usually levels out around 73º with Prime. But it's sat in a south facing room and it's been very warm recently. Plus, i'm a southern softie so it's never really that cold...

Nothing wrong with your clocking method - but once you're more comfortable with playing about within the BIOS you may want to experiment with the multiplier and different voltages.
