I don't mean to derail but is updating a bios the same as flashing one? I only ask because I'm going to use the motherboard...

No worries, and yeh flashing/updating is the same thing, basicly replacing old with new, just some say flashing others say updating, but its the same thing.

Can updating damage the motherboard? I just wanna make sure I don't lose money by like wrecking it or something.

Its very unlikey too, but there is allways a chance, very very very very low chance.

Iv allways tried to keep my mobo's as upto date as possible, and have yet to have any issues, but there is allways that chance, no matter how minisucle it is.

But there really is'nt anything to worry about, aslong as u do it the right way, and don't interupt it, when its updating everything is fine.
