P6T SE CPU Fan error (4-pin Apache PWM fan)

Hi Guys

If I set my CPU fan to Q-Fan controlled in the bios screen then it boots with a 'CPU Fan Error'. The fan is running at 530RPM which is below the allowed threshold. I've tried all the modes, silent, normal and turbo.

The fan is an Akasa Apache Super Silent 120mm 4-pin PWM fan. I bought it specifically as it's a PWM fan. The motherboard is an Asus P6T SE.

Has anyone else had the same problem? Thanks for any advice.

By the way what did they paint that fan with? It stinks!

Ive had this with my previous p5q deluxe and my current p6t deluxe, im using 400-1200 rpm pwm fans on a TRUE, you can disable the cpu fan warning in bios, this will save having to hit F1 to continue booting, once in windows the fan will spin up according to your chosen profile.

Thanks for the reply setter. I've seen the option to ingore the speed in the bios so I will try that. Once I get an OS put on I can monitor the speeds there. Just waiting for Windows 7 delivery at the moment.

Just a word of the obvious but crucial - if you're disabling fan warnings, make sure you've set your BIOS temperature warnings to sensible values, to save any head-in-hands moments.
