Just started to overclock my rig. So I've set the cpu multipler to the minimum 6 (normal is 7) and started upping the FSB.

However the minimum FSB multplier is 2. Hence I can't underclock the memory to find the mobo limit. So when I reach the limit of stability, how do I know each time if it's the chipset or ram voltage that I should be increasing?

Or should I just set the ram at 2.1v (it's not stable above that, even at modest FSB), find the limit, increase the chipset and iteratively try again?

Thanks,
Philip

Seem to be stuck on about 410mhz, which seems low to me. Even pushing the memory up from 1.8 in stages to 2.1v doesn't help. What should I be doing next?

It's GeIL PC6400, 2x1gb and 2x512mb kits.
Processor is on stock volts, but running x6 instead of x7. My reasoning here is that it does 7x400 = 2800mhz completely stable, so 6x410 = 2460mhz should be fine too?
How far is it safe to increase the mch?

Thanks,
Philip

+0.1v on MCH didn't make much difference. Maybe 5fsb. Shouldn't the board do at least 450 without breaking into a sweat?

Where do I access the timings? Is there an option in the BIOS? I don't remember seeing one! 5-5-5-15 sound about right?

depends on the processor all overclocks can be different so you just have to make the most of what you have, might need to up the processor voltage.

to get access to the memory timings press control and f1 when you're in bios, if its like my ds3p.
