PAC code query

Hi!

My current o2 contract runs out on the 6th of January and yesterday (28th) I asked for my PAC code. The guy said they'd text it to me but nothing's appeared so far. My question is this: Ignoring the fact that I've left things a bit late

, if o2 fanny about and don't get my PAC to me soon, will my contract with o2 be renewed automatically come the 6th of January if I haven't given the PAC to my new provider? (leaving me with 2 contracts :eek:

) Or does simply requesting the PAC bring the contract to an end?

Your O2 subscription will not come to an end until any supplied PAC code is used, as it will still be live until it is "ported over" to a new network. I wouldnt worry too much, O2 are notoriously slow at sending them out, took nearly 2 weeks to receive a text from then when i did it last year.

Your contract will not automatically renew for another 12 months, it will just go on a rolling 1 month basis (unless you upgrade with O2), then you would be tied in for another 12 or 18 depending on terms, so even if it is after 6th Jan when you receive your PAC code, the contract will finish once the port is complete. They will send you a pro-rata bill with any owed line rental (Calculated on a daily basis up to when the port took place)

I think you can get it over the phone as well depending on who you speak to. I just ended an O2 contract by porting my number to a Pay & Go sim card to save writing in to cancel and i was given my PAC over the phone no probs

When I ended my O2 contract about a month ago, after I'd finished speaking to retentions I was given my PAC code over the phone there and then - no waiting for text messages etc.
