PAC code question

I used a PAC code the other day and o2 told me it would go through today..

Well I texted a mate this morning and he told me my number had changed over.. Only his text went to my old phone.. Is this normal and part of the procedure (ie will it all change over soon) or should i ring o2 to tell them theres a problem?
