How long do you keep yours for?

Got a load of packaging from a new build that's been sitting in my spare room for the past few weeks. It needs chucking out but I have a slight fear about doing so.
Obviously I'll keep some things like CPU and motherboard packaging.

Anything I am likely to sell on, or is expensive enough to warrant a return if it develops a fault, will have its packaging kept.

for my last full build i kept the boxes for 2 weeks in case i had an early fault with them then shoved all the warranties, spare screws etc in the motherboard box and just kept that to save the space

I have enough boxes for a fort in the garage at the moment, I'm serious I could build a kickass fort with a "no girls allowed sign" and live in it for several years.

Never chuck packaging away for large items because I move house every few months it'd be silly to chuck a 50" plasma or similar into the back of a transit unprotected.

I tend to put the old part I've just replaced into the new part's packaging.

I'm rubbish at throwing stuff out

never ever chuck packaging away, most large boxes can be flat packed and small boxes dont take up any room in the loft.

you will be surprised how handy they come in handy, for example,i purchased a small fan and used the box to send 2 hard drives in it with loads of bubble wrap :)

I keep mine for a few days then bin it, unless, as others have said, I am going to sell the item on then it goes into the box / packaging of the new item.

Loft. Always.

Think my upstairs neighbour would get a wee bit annoyed if i filled her flat with the packaging for all my shiny shizzle :D

Since moving out of my parents' home they have all this extra space now so I put my packaging there :D
