My living room floor is suspended above the ground by around 1 metre on wooden joists which rest on a dwarf wall. I can access the space underneath easily enough by lifting a few floorboards.
In the doorway (threshold) between the living room and my kitchen/diner there is some bounce in the floor. Previously I have seen that the reason for the bounce is that the joist end has become loose. My plan is to crawl under and remove any loose material before packing the joist on the dwarf wall with slate packers taking care not to over pack and create a lifting of the floor.
What would you use and where would you source?
