Salutations,
For some class work I've got to set up a network in packet tracer, I've pretty much got it sorted I just don't know how to make these routers see each other or at least work. Below is a image of the network, the red lines indicate some sort of wiring that needs to be added, the whole point of the routers being interconnected is for redundancy purpose the only problem is I tried using a Ethernet connection between them I configured the IP's but it just would work. I'm probably doing something seriously wrong, the last time I used packet tracer was over three years ago and even then I didn't use it extensively. Can someone please show me the error of my ways.

Without firing up packet tracer and reminding myself how it works I can't offer too much advice but if you added Ethernet links between the routers what IP addressing did you use? Is it possible you just didn't have them in the same subnet as eachother?

Make sure you are using crossover cable, and are connecting to fastethernet/gigabit ethernet ports and not the aux/console ports by mistake. Make sure each link has the correct IP/subnet mask and the ports are not shutdown, also if you want router4 and router10 to be able to get to the switches or PCs you will need to set up static routes or a routing protocol as they are different networks.

Ah of course, PT will see them as different networks I didn't think of that. I'll give it ago and try using the crossover cable.
