Pad recommendations?

why are people recommending a wired pad when you can just stick the wire in a wireless pad if need be.
personally i use a xbox one wireless pad and its fine, i f you want to game on your tv its much easier if your pad is wireless.

Get controller companion and you have full control of your pc desktop with your xbox pad. you can sit browse on your tv with that software and launch games, movies ..do whatever

I use a wireless ds4

I've never had an Xbox, so I couldn't be bothered to get used to the controller, + I had ps4 controller anyway.

I found it extremely difficult to set up initially, and then again once I had formatted my pc, but once set up it works 100% fine in any game that supports Xbox (which is everything I've ever wanted to play). It might be easier to do now I'm not sure as I did mine years ago, I had to flash a Bluetooth dongle with different firmware and a load of crap, took hours in total as I kept doing something wrong.

I'd recommend an Xbox one as it's less faff, unless your used to the ps controllers like me.

Based on my own experience, I find that the original Xbox 360 controller just works, especially with older games, full force feedback etc. The 360 is my go to and works every time.

The Xbox One controller, undeniably better from an ergonomics perspective. However in wireless mode can be a bit temperamental! Once synced it is fine, but there are occasions when it refuses/loses sync or a game fails to recognise (usually older games) so a case of digging out the cable and even then you are not guaranteed that it will 100% work (e.g. force feedback might be missing).

The above is based on my experience of owning above and happy to be proved wrong!

was that the old style XBone wireless ones or the newer Bluetooth ones?

I just use Xbox One controllers, have three :D Grey/green, Scorpio edition and an Elite. Got a DS4 but never even tried to pair it to the PC.

My first wired 360 pad lasted for 5 years. Bought two more and the cable on both went within a year.

I've now moved to wireless 360 controllers with a battery pack and charging cradle. They've not skipped a beat yet.

Hi Hyper, based on the old style Xbox One controller none Bluetooth. It's just temperamental so I tend to revert back to the original.

I'm a long time pad user play all my pc games on pad. For years and years I used xbox 360 wired because I like the way they feel in my hand but now they stopped making them I moved on to better things.

I recently started using the razer controllers and realised how bad xbox 360 controller analog sticks are at aiming.

Im currently using razer wolverine Xbox one tornement and the analog sticks are amazing at aiming and also has a button on the back you can program to drop sensitivty on the fly. Like anytime you want steady aim you can hold the button on the back and drop sensitivity right down.

Also you can reprogram the extra buttons on top and back so you can play a game propperly with out having to take your thumbs off the stick to press the XABY buttons.

The razer wolverines have a crazy price tag but I definitely recommend them if you are serious pad user, so much more fun to play your games with the extra features and buttons.

It definitely helps online gaming too the last 2 seasons of overwatch on pc I have made it in to masters.

Also I have always prefered wired pads because they are easier to hold. I have quite bulky little hands and always had trouble getting a good grip on the wireless one.

With razer controllers they need to be returned to the shop you bought from if they break so make sure you use someone with good returns policy like amazon.

For something less exspensive the standard xbox one pads are pretty good and have a lot better parts on them than xbox 360 pads. I never got on with them though too bulky for my short thumbs.
