Just reinstalling my system about to move page file now I no the steps are close page file on c:/ then load it on d:/ or what ever letter the pc assigns.

But I've just been reading for vista and windows 7 you should still set a custom page file on c: of 1000mb 1000mb min/max as vista will require this for general use.
Is this true ?? Or should I just set the page file on C:/ to zero and completely move all page file to another drive ??

Well I have 3 drives in my pc and Its meant to give you a performance boost by moving it to a none system drive, When moved it will be set to windows managed.

It's just I've read its recommended to leave a 1gig structure built on the c for windows when you move the page file ?

You really need to see what best suits you!

Try the pagefile on another HDD (the fastest) and on C:\, also try it System managed, or with a max/min, or as a static pagefile ie. min/max values the same...

I found (using an SSD) it was best to leave it on C:\ with a static pagefile, ie 4096/4096MB (which simply reflects the amount of ram I have (4GB)).

Windows knows what it is doing, just leave it. The only modification I would say to make is move it to a separate physical drive if you can (I move mine to D:\, OS on C:\) and leave it at that

Do I need to turn it off on the C: drive or leave it enabled and system controlled on C also ?

If you move the main pagefile to another HDD, you need to leave a small static one on C:\, (to allow for a minidump) for Win 7 200MB...

I have no pagefile on my SSD/system drive, and on the rare occasions I get a crash, I still get a minidump just fine. To be honest though, for most people the minidump isnt much use anyway.

Isn't your page file supposed to be 1.5x Physical RAM? Personally i split mine between both my drives and set max/min to what i've just queried across both drives, always been fine with me.
