When surfing I get a white page for up to 10 seconds and then the page seems to drop in. If I then move to another page the same thing happens each time. I have unlimited sky fibre. Can anyone advise what might be the problem? Thanks.

If you're using Chrome you could use the Dev Tools (F12) to check.

Hit F12, go to the "Network" tab and then visit a page like normal. Once it's finished loading you can see what was loaded and how long it took. You can hover over any particularly long timeline items to get more information on what's taking so long.

Yep, disable automatic proxy and also try connecting to, for example, Google using its IP address rather than its URL (use ping to find it).

I am using Ethernet with a wired in socket direct to the router and its a fibre connection.

A direct connection? No Powerline adapters involved?

Have you tried another device as suggested?

Boot using Safe Mode with Networking and try it.

It's also worth downloading and running a Linux Live CD for a comparison.

Yes tried the wife's laptop and that seems ok. No adapters its a hard wired network connection. I will try the safe mode now. Thanks.

That was interesting. I did as suggested and did the "Boot using Safe Mode with Networking" and pages load instantly:confused:

That would usually point towards a problem with the network drivers or installed security software.

Can you provide additional hardware/software information?

i7-5820k CPU @ 3.30GHz with Gigabyte X99 SLi Mobo, 16.0GB RAM, Crucial SSD, Windows 10 64 bit OS. Loaded with Office, serif web, Adobe Photoshop Elements, CC Cleaner and Malwarebytes. No Antivirus, just using windows defender as built in.

Okay, you've proved it's a software issue.

Start by making sure the network drivers are up to date. Does your board have a have a 'Killer' NIC? If it does I'd lay the blame right there and concentrate on the getting it working correctly. Ideally if it does have a 'Killer' NIC disable it and install an Intel NIC instead, but that shouldn't really be necessary.

If that doesn't get you anywhere use MSCONFIG to disable third-party start-up items. Assuming that fixes the problem re-enable them until you find the problem.

Sorry to be thick but what is a killer NIC? Thanks.
