pagfile question

hi, i have a crucial m4 128gb as my main drive (everything apart from music videos and pictures) and a 500gb HDD for music vids and pictures.

as i have 16gb system memory the system managed page file allocates 16gb of space for pagefile on my SSD which is a lot.

what is the best work around for this? change the pagefile to a smaller size? (if so, what is ideal)

or could i even have no page file on the SSD but have one on the HDD?

Just turn off pagefile

I have mine to 4gb. But others prefer to shrink it even further or turn it off. I say it's best to leave it on as there is the odd programs that requires it to be on.

I agree with 4gb,I'm running that,keep it on the ssd as you want it to be fast

I have 7GB ram.

I have a 60GB SSD so i have 1GB on the SSD then 7GB on my program HDD.

I have 16gb RAM and turned pagefile off all together on my SSD

With that amount of RAM there is no need for pagefiling

I think its used when there is no RAM left to prevent system crash, may be wrong tho

I have exactly the same scenario. Dropped my pagefile to about 4gb. Left a little just in case.

i have various systems with 16gb to 8gb ram, i usually use 16mb - 256mb pagefile.

2gb to 4gb set pagefile is plenty.

No pagefile can cause all sorts of program issues, BF3 crashing for example.
