I'm running windows 7 64bit and I want to replace my HDD with a SSD. Unfortunately my C: drive weighs in at 111Gb so I was wondering:

a) what's the most painless way of installing the drive? I'm thinking that I should reinstall the apps on the C: drive to my D; or E: drive and image what's left of the C: drive and then copy the image to the SSD? If so, are there any free apps which will do this?

b) what size drive and make should I go for?

cheers

Pete
