Here and There...
So she who must be obeyed has decided I need to paint a radiator to match the wall it is on (She is right it will look much nicer!) now this is something I've never considered before. The wall will be painted with a farrow and ball mat emulsion and we want the finish to match so the question is will I be ok if I do the following:

1. Clean the radiator
2. Sand it gently all over
3. Prime it with a metal primer
4. paint it with the same emulsion I've used on the wall

Is there any value in adding a clear coat even though it will add a shinier finish?

Is this the proper farrow and ball radiator paint? They make some specifically for radiators/metal, I wouldn't just use emulsion.

How bad is the state of the current radiator? Is there any bubbling of flaking paint? Depending on how bad the radiator is I have removed the old paint fully with nitromors before with badly flaking ones as the new paint wont stick otherwise. If it's not to bad a light sand might be all you need. If the radiator is already painted I wouldn't prime it, just makes sure its had a light sanding and a good clean first.

I'm not sure what kind of clear coat would be suitable for radiators, but the finish of metal paint should be pretty decent.

The radiator is less than 2 years old and immaculate fortunately!

Was looking at something like this as top coat over the emulsion to protect it, I didn't know farrow and ball made radiator paint!

That's a time saver, I would give it a light sand to give the new paint something to stick too, give it a really good clean then once it's fully dry use the farrow and ball metal paint.
