Painting mist coat problems

Like whats been said. 50/50 or 70/30 usually on the mist coat.

Also, another problem that might have come about is the plasterer made the whall to smooth. Did the pain just start running down the wall when you put it on? i was talking to the plasterer over the road and he said when they do new builds if the painters are annoying them, then the make the walls super smooth so the paint doesnt stick to it!

He done a bit for me behind the bath to show what he meant. He was right, it was crazy trying to get the paint to stick! and that was with 50/50 so it should have just sucked it up

No Kimi, the paint went on a little thick to begin with but I rolled it out nice, in some parts the paint was making a webbing pattern and wouldn't stick properly, if I tried using a brush it would just leave stroke marks ect but you could still see the plaster

If I literally left the paint for 30 seconds sat on the surface it would start drying out and be hard to roll out after

Hopefully this decorator will be able remove all the paint and I can start a fresh again

Setter, will just a damp cloth be good enough to dust the walls down after its been sanded?

Update on above

Ok so I've pretty much got it back to bare plaster but...

I have had a few bits of plaster pop where the boards are screwed in the ceiling exposing some of the plasterboard

Also you can faintly see bits of the mesh tape on some of the joints

Can I just use easy fil on the screw holes and then mist coat it again or is this going to require re skimming with proper plaster again?

I really hope no one has to go through this scenario, the amount of mess and now imperfections is slowly killing me
