No, not unless they are affiliated with and condoned by the government. It would be up to the government of Palestine to deal with them as criminals, possibly with outside help if requested, much like northern Ireland and the republic. Hopefully with an actual state and proper government a lot of these groups would decide politics is the way forward.

yes its not a perfect solution but it does force the responsibility of keeping the peace onto the Palestine government, something that isn't really there at the moment. it also stops the Israeli government and settlers grabbing more land which is one of the big contentions in the region today.

Well it's what they used to do before (and kinda during) they were the government.

well no the worst is it forces the UN to veto it and makes any political intervention by the UN pretty much impossible in future as they'll be seen as supporting Israel and completely cutting of any "peaceful" solution to the problem.

But lets just ignore than and pretend it's all happiness and rainbows.

If it was going to have no impact then neither Israel or more importantly the United States would stand in their way, especially given the diplomatic problems facing the United States within the Arab world if it is forced to veto.

full UN membership and recognition of a sovereign Palestinian State strengthens Palestinian claims, for them it is increasingly becoming their only option in the face of the defunct and meaningless peace process.
 
Well this argument has shown the UN is really a congress for states, nations just are not represented :(

Plus I'm no longer an Obama fan after this, today he's said the UN is useless and provided any sensible discussion to fixing the problem.

So I propose one state and 2 nations in the territory Israel has (and the bits Palestine have) with a forced mixed government. Wont happen but a different idea
