My temps are quite different. It idles at 60-65c but never goes above 78-79c under full load. Played Crysis last night for 15 minutes, peak temperature 79c.

Just like my 6950@70 at 925/1325. Played SC2 for 3 hours last night - top temperature 77c.

Glad you are happy though :)

My peak is no doubt higher due to my high ambient temp.

But with regards to your idle temp @ 60-65c I'm guessing your using dual screen?

Mine was hitting 58c idle with dual monitors so I whacked in an old passively cooled ati card into my secondary PCI-E slot to power my other two screens and my idle temp dropped right down to 38-40c.

Only problem I have now is that when you have an ati card in your system the nvidia drivers disable PhyshX so I'm thinking of grabbing one of these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-140-GW&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1833, it's only £27 and should power an extra couple of screens easy.

Good you followed me with the 570 option in the end ;-) However, although I payed more for my Gainward 570 Phantom, it does 850 Mhz at stock voltages and max temps are 62 C. It is silent when not being pushed. I paid £305 for it.

I was looking at the palit 570 sonic platinum edition as it was only £260 where I saw it, the only thing that was stopping me was it was made by palit. After reading this thread though it seems palit are ok. You can't really beat £260 for a brand new sonic platinum 570, gonna get 2.

I've went for the EVGA 570 SC myself. Glad you're enjoying this one [TW]Fox as I've been following your posts because my needs/wants have been similar to yours on a sandy build. Nearly went for the GTX 480 but missed until thursday because of constraints, then seen the posts about the fans appearing. Unfortunately have an OCD about noisy fans or I would have went for it. 570 was also the more reasonable option for me to SLI in 9/12 months time.

I've not tried more than 810mhz core yet, mostly because I've got no idea how high I should go before I start touching voltage, and even if I should start touching voltage.

Just a standard one - it's easily beyond Superclocked specs.

:)

Good package from EVGA as well, 10 year warranty, free copy of 3Dmark 11 and if you do wish do use custom coolers I dont think it voids the warranty either.

Just installed my EVGA 570 - lovely and quiet

However, is 3dmark 11 on the driver CD as there are no other discs in my box and no sign of a code to register it.

- Really is pointless having a warranty like that. You just won't have the same rig (never mind graphics card) in 10 years time plus the card won't be worth a turd.

- Free copy of 3Dmark? I was under the impression people only used the free version anyway? I've not used any benchmarking software since ~'03 but then I'd never dream of paying for it anyway.
