Been looking for GTX1050Ti as a stop-gap upgrade until I can gather enough funds for a new build. This one caught my eye but for the life of me I've never heard of "Palit". I generally stick to manufacturers I know. Are these worth a go, anyone with any experiences with them, good or bad?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

I would be using it to replace a Radeon HD6850/1gig (7 years old iirc)

Also how difficult is it to get rid of the old Radeon drivers and switch to NVidia??

Generally speaking the pascal Palit cards have been a bargain and good clockers out the box, also really strong cooler reviews on the 1080s at least I think (unless memory fails me).

So yeah good kit, not a ‘risky’ brand if that’s the question.

I've got a bog standard Palit GTX 1060. Initial impressions were that it felt incredibly cheap and plastic-y, but the performance is no different to any other 1060 out there. It's in a Node 202 case so there's no telling its a cheaper card. The chip under the hood is exactly the same as other brands.

I guess in essence that was is what I asking. I know choosing any piece of hardware is always subjective, a balance between the head, heart and bank balance. I just didn't want to be posting a post-buy thread, only to discover every man and his dog says avoid them like the plague. Until I'd seen them on the OCUK site I'd never heard of them.

You will not have any problems with that card or make, it is a pity you did not post earlier you could have picked up that that model for £111.00 (not at ocuk they have become to expensive )

Palit are a massive brand worldwide, they actually overtook Asus in terms of marketshare at one point for volume. They also own Gainward which I assume for those who don't know Palit would unlikely know Gainward, but they are quite a large brand as well.

Ultimately while they might not be a household name like Asus or Corsair for some people in the UK (and the West) with regards to pc components, they are a massive company and a household name in many countries around the world (Asia for example), so you've got no worries at all.

For me personally when I make any purchase my main concern is the retailer, as I want them to be the one to replace my product. The household names ironically are sometimes the worse ones to deal with. Asus are not pleasant if you have to RMA.....

That is one of the downsides of my Palit 1070 - coming from the Gigabyte card I had before which had a solid amount of copper, etc. the Palit is all aluminium heatsinks so its very light and cheap feeling plastic - but it does the job - reasonably quiet and temperatures are pretty much the same as any other 1070.

TBH if I was buying against I'd probably go for one of the Gigabyte cards just due to feeling a bit more substantial but for the price I paid for this card I wasn't complaining.

I owned the Pallit 1080 jetstream and loved it. Super quiet and never had any problems. Loved it so much I sold it and bought the 1080ti exact same model and brand. They really are solid performers and the quietest cards Ive owned. My 980 ti's were MSI gaming cards which were quiet, but I find these to be better.

To be honest I plan on getting the same brand and model once the 11 series rolls round as well!
