Panasonic 2010 range.

hmm good point there is the mrs to consider :D I might wait to see if 3DHDTV really takes off. I think there will be a quick movement of technology if it does

ive still got 4 1/2 years of warranty to use yet lol, so il try and keep mine that long :D but if 3Dtv does take off then il probably upgrade earlyer.

I was all set to try and source either a 42" or 50" V10 as I wanted the THX mode.

The new V20 looks very nice. Now that the G20 has THX mode as well I'm going to have a real decision on my hands. I think my choice will come down to the 42" V20 or the 50" G20, just have to wait and see the prices and if the V20 actually looks better in the flesh or the so-called pro panel in the V20 makes a noticable difference.

Also wait for the reviews on avforums etc. The V10 is still an amazing screen, especially in THX mode when watching 1080p

I don't feel bad about buying a G10 in December at all - they were an absolute bargain and I'm more than happy with it. The 2010 ones are going to have to come in at a very special price to make me regret not waiting.

Not doubting these will be good, esp if they do have the Kuro stuff people keep banging on about, but it's not enough to justify changing the V10 for one just yet.

They will be very good though :)

Looking good - just have to hope this will, in time, drive down the price of the 50" G10 / V10 so I can actually look at getting one (it's either that or a projector and my room is too small for a PJ).

Well the V10 isn't being mae anymore I believe and is quite hard to get hold of if you believe what they say over on AV forums.

Given the recent 'diminishing black level' problem that has surfaced recently i would steer well clear of any Panasonic plasma right now until that is cleared right up.

I'm not really that worried about it to be honest.

It seems that it's triggered by a specific number of run-time hours and the new 2010 range is going to stagger it so that it's less noticeable.

The number of hours seems to be quite high, so unless you leave your set on 24/7 for months, you're not really going to be affected by it. I would have thought that by the time it becomes an issue (if you even notice it) it will be time to upgrade to the next biggest and best thing like OLED or 3DHD or what ever is around the corner.

I hit 1300hours in 10 months on my 5090.

Doesn't the panasonic start adjusting black levels from 1000hours?
