I thought you put a wee bit of sugar into the sweet pancake mix anyways? I've always done it that way

Yes, very different. Check out Buttermilk pancakes for an idea.
They don't taste as good as our ones, though.

My personal favourite is to mix coconut and pineapple into the pancake. Serve with 2 scoops of Haagen Dasz vanilla ice cream and send your taste buds to heaven! 
Exactly, not a lot else it can be.
The ingredients for them aren’t exactly rocket science, eggs, milk, flour and salt. 
Wait, am I missing something here, when people say they have it with sugar, do they mean just sugar, plain ol sugar ?
We eat ours with a cinnamon and sugar mix, never ever had it with just sugar or sugar and lemon juice
And nutella + Banana + ice cream pancakes are awesome too

Made a batch of pancakes (about 20
) for myself and the housemates, seemed to go down quite well along with the chocolate sauce judging by the disappearing act they performed. Shame I burnt the arse out of the butterscotch sauce though, was looking forward to that
