Panel filter...which one?

I've got a 2.0 16v astra and want to know which performance panel filter will give the best sound? I know theres a few like k&n, piperX etc but which one is best?

Personally, K&N for me.

They have been doing this for ages and are renowned(sp?) for selling quality products and doing what they say on the tin.

green air filter. More quality than K&N and cheaper

After all they are all basically the same, so get the cheapest. I just purchased a green for my gti6 and fitted it yesterday, very impressed. Oh if you want noise, dont buy one unless you want to drill some holes, cones are for noise.

I tried a cone filter but that got very hot and was only feeding in hot air.

Where did you purchase that green filter from?

I thought panel filters didn't really give any noticeable increase in engine roar?

A panel filter wont change the sound of your engine.

The position and size of the holes might.

I'd get a K&N. Panels are pretty cheap and they always do well in the comparitive tests.

a panel filter wont increase induction noise but it should flow more air then a normal paper filter.

you can hear my turbo whistle much louder on mine with a K&N drop in filter. thats about it thou
