Parallels sharing apps with OS X when I don't want it to

I'm getting a bit miffed by Parallels 4.

I have an XP VM and despite whatever I do, it's offering applications into OS X.

For example, when I right click on a .nfo file on OS X, the default open application is Notepad in my VM.

I've gone into the VM config and disabled everything I can see regarding sharing - I don't want anything shared between OS X and Windows.

In Security, I have the slider set to High

In Shared Folders, everything is unticked.

In Shared Profile, everything is unticked.

In Shared Applications, everything is unticked.

I can't see any preferences that enables this sharing, but I don't want it!

Does anyone know how I can stop it?

"You can not remove shared applications, but you can install Parallels Tools without them. You should reinstall Parallels Tools, and during reinstallation select "Custom". After that uncheck "Shared applications" in the list."

Probably a bit late now you've installed it all though.

I've been looking into this and I reckon it may be possible.

Within the VM package contents there's a folder called Windows Applications which has a load of files that may, or may not be shortcuts to the apps within Windows. I wonder if just blatting those will do it.

Or I could uninstall and reinstall Parallels Tools, but I don't recall a custom part of the install. I have asked the question on the Parallels forum and will see what they say, once my post actually appears after being moderated.

I have just removed and reinstalled Parallels Tools, there is no 'custom' option, it just does it!

/edit - I bit the bullet, deleted the Windows Applications folder within the package, removed the launchservices preferences file, rebooted and all done.
