Parcel delivery advice please

Hi guys, i'm just about to put a fairly large and heavy item on ebay. whats the best way to go about getting this delivered to the winning bidder. Do companies like city link pickup the parcel and then deliver or do you have to take it to a depot?

Any one with tips and experience please lend a hand.

I sold a TV on the MM here once and sent it via Parcel2Go.com and they came and picked it up.

I use parcelforce quite a lot. I just stick my parcel on the bathroom scales, get the weight. The go to their website and order the service I need - normally Parcelforce 48 which is gauranteed 2 day delivery for reasonable prices - 24 seems a bit too pricey for the one day quicker service. I sent a 12kg package to Bangor for circa £14. They come and pick up the parcel from your house too and they will also supply all the labels if you request it during the order.

I've been very happy with this service and in the last month have used it more than 5 times and each and every time has been spot on and delivered within the stated time.

so sometimes using a company is cheaper than doing it through the royal mail office??
