Parcel FARCE

Perth depot 0844 209 6188 (make sure you press option 5 to get through to the staff at the depot rather than the main switchboard).!

You are epic, got through instantly guy said there loading "some" vans but was very honest said its nothing to do with snow they didnt have the staff in. And that to be frank my parcel wont be going out as higher ups have decided to do yeserdays today and nothing he could do.

He is going to find my parcel though and set it asside so I can go get it. See the difference when you get through all the rubbish lies and bull from Parcel force customer services. Lie after lie. You wonder why people are raging.

oh and the folks saying order earlier. I didnt know I would need a psu till it popped yeserday at 5pm.

How does that work ... it's Christmas, they have an increased parcel volume at this time of year, and oh yeh it's winter so it might snow and make them have a bit of a pile up.
Shouldn't they have lots, and lots, and lots of extra staff on hand because this is likely to happen every year?

yeh in theory they would have lots of staff....how many couldnt get to work or were "ill" on christmas eve though lol.

Edinburgh is okay as far as I know bud my brother got a package earlier this morning, try the trick above, phone your depot , find it on there site. Press 5 at options and you should go straight through.

I probably wouldn't leave ordering things this late anyway, especially if it was for a Christmas present because that only leaves a tiny window of error for the delivery companies. If it wasn't for a Christmas present I would be annoyed that it potentially wouldn't be with me on time but then I'd put most of the blame on myself for not ordering way sooner, like on one of the other 300 odd days of the year.

I'm glad you've got your parcel though.

The cost of having huge numbers of staff is prohibitive (especially if you're paying overtime/holiday rates), it also wouldn't help if say the depot/main roads are relatively clear of snow and ice, but say the drivers live 5-10 miles away and can't get onto the main roads safely.
I suspect PF, like most businesses had planned for today not to be a full working day, which means that given the weather the past few days there is likely a nasty backlog which they are giving priority to, and are doing their best given the the circumstances.

Round here we haven't had it bad (roughly MK area), and most of the main roads are nice and clear.
It's the smaller residential roads that are a nightmare as they haven't been gritted at all, nor have many had enough traffic to melt the ice properly, it's sheet ice that is actually worse today as the snow/ice warms up a little, and is not nice to drive on even at low speed (especially in the narrower roads).

Perhaps RM should then come out and publicly say that the local authorities are useless

get a grip the roads are perfectly clear honestly look at the traffic cams, i just drove up there. Any excuse.

yea but where the roads clear at 3/4am when the delivery lorry was due there.... where they clear miles away on the delivery lorrys route. for all you know the lorrys in a ditch. or the mail plane couldnt fly/land

no point being open if theres no mail to sort and deliver.

im sure they didnt just close the depot on purpose just to annoy you.
