Hi all, applied to have my car at my uni this year, but I did not get a space due to to many other people wanting them.

If I do not get some where to park my car im going to have to sell it, as my family is moving away from the area and I will have no where to keep it!

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a place where you can park your car securly all year, for as cheap as possible, I have asked in car parks but it is £600 which is quite a chunk of money!

Idealy I would rent a garage, but the council dont seem to want to give me one and I have been on the waiting list a year!

Any help would be appreciated, advice on who to contact etc.

Thanks,
Jcb33 :)

Just find a residential area and park on the street.

Thats the problem, any residential areas are about 50 mins walk away, so a bit harsh to just leave my car there, and the street my uni accomodation is on = lots of parking tickets :(

there has to be some streets without double yellow lines.

tried renting a priavte garage. look on right move or local paper. Probably be about £600 a year though.

msn in trust :)

at uni there too. If your in the nasty end of town (near stadium), parking is free. If not all you need to do is get a £50 parking permit from the council (need proof of residence though) and you can park in the west end. If thats not pos then I think the horse and groom still do a parking permit for something like £50 a year in their car park. Failing that then its find a garage time.

I'd personally sell your car. There are plenty of on-street car parking spaces if you walk further out of town, but then your car is at the mercy of chavs and other vile inbred people who inhabit Lincoln.

If you're living bang in the centre of town, there really is no requirement for having a car. You are only a quick walk away from the train and bus stations.

I'd personally sell the car and save the moneyu.

I live near the stadium (still on the high street side of the river though) and the area is not that bad, but parking is a nightmare. My housemate was always able to find a space on our street but it's still a 10-15min walk away from the uni. It's not worth having a car at Lincoln.

aside from that there is a lil hidden away car park off of carholme road I could direct u to if u wish...aside from that I can't think of many other places

Weird. I live on Sincil Bank...i've got my car here but its a pain to find a space most of the time 'cause of the people that work in town parking there since its one of the last non-residents only parking areas.

Oh and lmao at the people saying the stadium side is a nasty area, you've obviously lived seriously sheltered lives if you're scared at the sight of a couple of small kids in hoodies and caps and Polish people. There isn't anywhere that dodgy in Lincoln, its one of the safest cities in the country.

i lived down lincoln all my life, i am 16 and i own a ped, these things are great for getting around town! my step dad now walks 2 work, as its 10 minutes away and we only use the car to visit family and to go shopping!

There are loads of small rat runs and side streets where you can find a space or two. Every time I have to park in town I usually get a space just off the lower end of the high street.

But to be honest, I agreee with some of the others in saying get rid of the car. If you're a student in lincoln you're not really going to need a car 90% of the time to get around. Especially if you live in the town centre area, there are plently of buses and the station is easy to get to.

Save yourself some extra cash to spend on beer mate, that's what I'd do in your position.

Update: I have just rang the council, and they have said I can get no permit as im a student, not a resident (Even though I am living in student accomodation full time!) They have 2 car parks with spaces left, Lucy tower, and broad gate, costing £890, and £690 respectivly... Looks like im gonna have to wave bye to my baby :(
